  • Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic Tiles are one of the most commonly used to lay on floors and walls. These tiles are made from sand, clay, and water. This mixture is then heated in the kiln at a high temperature of 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. This process produces the final product – the Ceramic Tile.

Ceramic Tiles are well suited for kitchens, bathrooms, and shower spaces. This is due to its water-resistant quality and ability to handle humid and moist conditions. Ceramic Tiles are also easy to clean and are impervious to staining and scratching.

Ceramic Tiles come with a glazed and unglazed finish. Also, these tiles have varied thickness and durability depending upon whether they would be placed on walls or floors.

Nowadays, Ceramic Tiles are gaining preference in living rooms, drawing rooms, and bedrooms. This is because they can be designed to resemble hardwood, granite, marble, etc., types of tiling. These tiles are also reasonably cheaper and provide a rich and elegant outlook.

  • Vitrified Tiles

Vitrified Tiles are made from a mixture of clay, quartz, silica, and feldspar. This mixed compound is molded, heated, and then pressed in a Hydraulic Pressing Machine. This process produces the high-density Vitrified Tile.

Vitrified Tiles are denser, durable, and stronger than Ceramic Tiles, are used for flooring, and are placed in high or heavy footfall locations. These locations usually include – restaurants, stores, shopping malls, hotels, schools, hospitals, commercials, etc.

These tiles have high water, humidity, heat, stains, dirt, and frost resistance. Therefore they are also used for flooring patios, decks, terraces, and pools. Vitrified tiles are easy to clean and are scratch-resistant.

One can buy various Vitrified Tiles, such as – Double Charge, Full Body, Soluble Salt, and GVT/PGVT. The difference between these tiles is their thickness, durability, and final look. Vitrified Tiles come in sizes – 600mmx600, 800mmx800mm, 600mmx1200mm, and 800mmx1600mm.

  • Porcelain Tiles

Porcelain Tiles also go through vitrification; the only difference is that the raw material mixture (clay, sand, silica, and feldspar) is fired at 2800 degrees Fahrenheit instead of 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. These tiles are also processed through the Hydraulic Pressing Machine.

This entire procedure produces high-density tiles, which are averse to wear and tear, require low maintenance, are suitable for high traffic spaces, and endorse an elegant and rich look.

Porcelain Tiles are Graded from 1 to 5, depending upon their porosity, thickness, and durability. Grade 1 tiles are the thinnest and are only used to tile the walls, whereas Grade 5 tiles are placed in spots with heavy footfall, such as schools, hospitals, big commercial spaces, etc.

There are three types of Porcelain Tiles – Polished, Rectified, and Glazed. One can lay these tiles in kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, terraces, patios, offices, etc. The best part about Porcelain Tiles is that they are heat, water, frost, rime, and bacteria-resistant, therefore helping keep the space clean and healthy.

  • Digital Tiles

Digital Tiles are either Ceramic or Vitrified tiles whose designs are crafted digitally. Digital Tile manufacturers use digital media to create designs printed on the tiles. Digital Tiles are often used in kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and offices for the colorful and creative backdrop.

These tiles are easy to clean and maintain, do not absorb moisture, and are resistant to heat and humidity. These tiles are available in a matte and glossy finish, and they’re scratch and stain-proof. These tiles are lightweight, budget-friendly, and simple to install.
